Is there not other sources of text for the programmes?
I can not get tuxTxt to get subtitles for all programmes of the swedish channels.

Like when they interview foreign nationals and you know there should be subtitles but none to find.

@Treo: Please put your English questions in our English area. But I'll try to answer your question here:
There may be other sources for subtiteling, depending on the data that a channel sends out.
I think what you mean is the DBV-subtiteling. This is data that is sent out by some channels parallel to the video, audio and videotext. Unfortunatelly these DBV-subtitles are not implemented in the software. Therefore, at the current time, you can not receive and display these.

Sorry, I don't know. (But I'm not sure that Jürgen has promised anything in that area).
I'm currently searching for a free channel that sends out DVB-subtitles and that is receivable here in Munich. Can you give me a hint, so that I can have a look at that issue?

I keep looking, but maybe someone else know a free channel with DVB-subtitles.

I hope DVB-subtitles is high on your priority list, cos' this is a VERY big wish for many, especially in scandinavia.

Have you some info about DVB subtitles? Some days ago, DMM released a new firmware, but as far as I can see, there is still no DVB subtitles. :-((

PLEASE tell me (and the rest of scandinavia), when will we see DVB subtitles on the Dreambox ??

Is a using of cryped chanels prohibited? You are from Germany, you can be owner of Premiere!

Die Untertitel können zum Beispiel auf Sirius. Cinema oder Ticket mit der Fernbediehnung
Textseite 690 aufrufen.

DVB Untertitel kann gerade mit dem Teletext aufgerufen wenn mann die Seite 690 wählt, dann
erscheinen die DVB Untertitel , in diesem Fall auf
Schwedich für den Sirus Satteliten oder auf Thor.

Subtitles are nearly always there on BBC1 or 2...
The subtitling is meant for the hearing impaired, or like me, too lazy to listen to the text.
Yes, the subtitling is also available as teletext (fortunately :-) ).
But it might be a good resource for FTA subtitling, that is: if you can receive astra 28.2 overthere in munich...

If the developers cannot receive it, or need some testing done, they can get an ssh account on my development server (debian sid on either a pa-risc, or an i386), serial console and complete access to my dreambox (this includes an aston SECA CAM and canal digitaal card). I've got a diseqc switch, and 3 LNB's at hotbird, astra 19.2 and astra 28.2 (Except for tuesday and wednesday when it has to be up and running for recordings and maybe not in the weekends, depends on the wife :-) ).

Unfortunately I do not have a big upstream :-(.
Which I hope to change soon :-).

Any news regarding DVB subtitles? We've been waiting quite a long time for this here in Scandinavia. I really don't see how Dream could take the step from Beta to non-Beta without DVB subtitling support?!?

I certainly hope that it isn't depending on Dream finding a non-encrypted channel to test on, likt I read in other posts in this thread.
That really seems, shall we say, somewhat unproffessional....

mostly done. wrote whole new set of functions to enigma including subtitling. no conf menu yet. "subtitler.conf" goes to /var/tuxbox and contains language preference list (topmost is most preferred). And please - no "how-to" questions. I'd rather develop it further and read bug reports, than give support to those who cannot for some reason install new enigma or has various other problems. TIA

Does anybody know if DVB subtitling is finally fixed in 1.07.4 image? It was supposed
to be fixed for a loooooooooooooooong time ago.

By the way, I think that the specification for this is:
Final draft ETSI EN 300 743 V1.2.1 (2002-06) and it should be part of the DVB(-S) implemetation. Augenzwinkern
