And what exactly we see there? What is the stream resolution/aspect ratio and what resolution has your monitor?

Scaling is done by the videosink (default is d3dvideosink) and not ds.

If you are on windows you can try different videosinks: add "VideoSink=dshowvideosink" or "VideoSink=directdrawsink" in the section "[General]" in the dreamstream.cfg.

Depending on your graphics card maybe you must run ds with the commandline option "-f".

VideoSink=dshowvideosink did not result in anything. both SD or HD channels still shows as 720x576i / 1280x720p both with aspect ratio 16:9 and showing letterbox.

VideoSink=directdrawsink - that fixed the SD channels showing aspect 16:9 but filling whole tv screen as rather than letterboxas i had before. But the HD channels still show as widescreen and not filling the whole screen.

i have a 1024x768 resulution plasma tv

below you se two pictures of HD channel. the first is from DS and the seccond is when i switch to dreambox and tv

could you be more specific?

Looks like your tv is set to 16:9 and squeezes the image.

Is the image ok if you play the stream via vlc?

yes, tv profile is 16:9

so i believe you are riggt... is this an tv issue? but then why the picture is scaled correct when i use the dreambox output is the big question...

Dreambox can set the format too.

Have you tried vlc?

As expected, 1024x768 will be detected as 4:3 screen and the software will scale for this aspect ratio.

Your tv does it again, so try to set another format than 16:9.
