Web browser in 2.0 firmware

Seems that new 2.0 firmware http://dreamboxupdate.com/opendreambox/2…00-20120430.nfi has a webbrowser.
- added webkit based webbrowser

Does it have flash player? If it is, it is great multimedia box!

Hi,

no, there is no Flash support, and I don't think it would do any good if there was Flash. The browser is slow as hell as it is. Reminds me of the old good ISDN times.

Hope it is not processor limitation.
Because flash implemention in CIS counties will have big popularity - people will watch films online.

It IS a processor limitation.
A Dreambox is NOT a PC and never pretend to be one.
Software intensive calculations will never work realtime (read: for video decoding).

But you are lucky that Flash is not realy popular on Websites since Apple did not support it on their mobile Devices :)

Flash has never been very popular. It's a workaround. HTML5 and later HTML will solve the problem.
