Ethernet problems

Please provide some information about the hard- and software used.

DB500
GUI (enigma1/enigma2):
DM500rel 108/No Support for this Image in this Board / Boardrules:

I can't seem to get any life out of my ethrnet terminal. I've tried various permutations on the network settings. I tried DCC and this showed an initial green contact with the DB then said 'Dreambox login failed'. Telnet showed 'Telnet connected. Telnet disconnected.' Its not the cable as I've taken cable from 2nd working PC.'

My FTP transfer goes at 500 Kbps...

My FTP transfer goes at 500 Kbps... instead of the usual 30 Mbps or 50 Mbps... any idea ? I am using a direct connection via 100 Mbps Ethernet cable... is it normal to be so slow ?
