Hm , what do you mean ? If you have an external RGB2YUV - adapter, it should work fine, because this device converts the original RGB - output of the DB. So if the quallity of the YUV - signal isn't good enough, on my opinion the adapter/converter doesn't work as expected.

Indeed in my posting I was only talking about the modification of the DBs software ( config-file in /etc/enigma2 ).
That software-modification already brings you a YUV - Output at the SCART - connector (works quite fine at my beamer) , but the signal isn't 100% best qualitty, as the pins of the SCART connector are the same being used for RGB - Output, and the hardware is optimized for RGB. So without optimized hardware for YUV output there may be some color-shadows on the screen.

If you want 100% YUV quallity without using an external adapter/converter, at least you have to change the 3 capacitors ( including the loss of warranty for the DB) + additionally change the config-file.

And, last but not least, as you can read some postings above, sometimes there are differences in the capability of processing the YUV signal by the TV/beamer. So - depending on your TV/beamer - it might be better to use RGB instead of YUV. The best RGB2YUV-adapter/converter (or DB) doesn't make sense if the TV/beamer - hardware is too bad to process the signal, does it ?.

It does process the signal. I know because with my dvdplayer it works fine. In my dvd player I can choose RGB or YUV (+progressivescan), it gives a very clear image. I think nicer as with RGB in this case. The dvdplayer is older than the dm7025. So it is a littlebit strange that dream choose not to support booth signals. It is a expensive box (599€) but you can not do a loth off things with it. Because moost things are not supported for dm7025.

I have noticed that when I set the output to S-video, the composite video and RF-output turns black and white, which is really stupid. Is this a hardware limitation or just a software problem?

If it is hardware, is it then a chip-set problem or a board design problem?

Sollte im Großraum Lünen wohnen. Ich würde vorbei kommen.

Wäre dann ja wohl solch ein Adapter? Müss man dann nicht mehr löten? Und ist der YUV-Ausgang dann wirklich progressiv?

egal, welchen Adapter Du nimmst (es gehen auch die preiswerteren, aber nichtsdestotrotz hochwertigen von Reichelt), die Box kann nur interlaced !
Da ist von progressive keine Spur !

Ich brauche Hilfe
Mir ist ein Fehler unterlaufen beim Löten.
Ich wollte 3 Konsdensatoren löten laut dem Bild von el_tonno.

Da hab ich mir bei Conrad "1uF bis 100 Volt" radialen Kondensatoren, ohne auf Pole zu achten, gekauft,und ich wollte loslegen, da ich Erfahrung mit andern Boxen bereits habe, und die funzen tadellos.

Nach dem Löten (siehe Bild von el_tonno erster Kondensator von unten) hatte das Bild einen grünen Stich. Beim 2. Versuch ist mir dieser Fehler unterlaufen, da meine Lötspitze zu grob war. Einen neuen Lötkolben wollte ich mir nicht kaufen, die Teile sind winzig.

Der erste Kondensator von unten (Bild el_tonno) hat sich abgelötet, und ich finde die Lötpunktstelle nicht mehr.

Ich hab es noch 2 mal versucht, ohne Erfolg, RGB- und Yuf-Bild war so, als ob eine Farbe fehlt, da hab ich alle 3 abgelötet. Und gestern war dann zu spät.

Kann man da etwas retten? Wenn ja, wie?
Waren die Kondensatoren zu stark?

handelt es sich bei den 3 Kondensatoren (1uF, 16V soweit ich weiss) um Elkos (also mit Polung) oder einfache Kondensatoren.

Leider konnte ich diese Info hier nicht finden.
