User script possible ?
At present, I can run a script by telnet or at start-up. But is it possible to do it at the box (like the script plugin or type 3 plugin in E1) ?

A little research would have given you multiple solutions for your problem:
Captain Shell Plugin - 'just' shell script execution, with Userdefined scripts
Menu Fantastic Plugin - completely self defined menu structures with shell execution and ...
Barry Allen Plugin - offers shell execution from WebIF (besides other things)
What else do you need ?
