Dreamboxes in inHaus Centre

Dream Multimedia cooperates with the Frauenhofer Gesellschaft’s inHaus Innovation Centre.
In so doing, the use of Dreamboxes in SmartHomes is demonstrated.

The Fraunhofer inHaus Centre in Duisburg presents different system solutions for residential (SmartHome) and utility buildings (SmartBuilding) which are aimed at owners and investors, as well as operators and end users of residential and utility properties in particular. inHaus GmbH, as a spin-off company of the innovation centre, has installed around 200 application solutions on the market since 2003.

The project, which uses set-top boxes from Dream Multimedia, is targeted at housing associations. In a client-server System, the Dreamboxes facilitate communication between tenant and landlord. Thus, facility management for housing associations is greatly simplified. Furthermore, tenants have different service options, like for instance meal ordering or current timetables for the local public transport, which can be selected via an accessible portal on the television using the Dreambox.
